Cesc Fabregas last night stressed his commitment to Arsenal, stating that he was focusing on helping Arsene Wenger's team to win some silverware next season after the disappointing end to their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
"Of course I will be feeling very jealous when I watch the games between Chelsea and Liverpool and Barcelona against Manchester United," Fabregas said of this week's European action.
"That is natural. I wanted Arsenal to be involved and we're not, and that is disappointing.
"I really want to be in their position right now. I still watch Barcelona on TV and follow their progress, but I'm not bothered about who wins. If Arsenal aren't there, it doesn't matter to me."
"I'm very happy at Arsenal and thinking about next season already," he said. "I'm sure we will be up for winning trophies again next year, and I cannot wait for the new season to start.
"It is disappointing how we were leading the Premier League at one stage and then lost our way. That should not happen at a club like Arsenal, but I still think we have been improving. It didn't happen because we didn't play well or didn't give 100 per cent - it's just a better team won."
"For me, the most important thing is giving everything on the pitch - that is what really matters."
It has been a good season personally for Fabregas, who collected the PFA Young Player of the Year trophy at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Sunday evening.
"It's very special to win this award, which is my first in England," he said.
"It's voted for by the players, the ones you play against every week.
